The I AM a Golfer Foundation (IAMGF) was established in 2018 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a mission to be a catalyst for community renewal and transformation in Southern Dallas through the programming, preservation, and promotion of the historic Cedar Crest Golf Course.
IAMGF believes that expanding access to the game of golf creates meaningful impact both on and off the course by building character, cultivating leadership, and opening pathways to opportunity and long-term success.
Since its inception, the I AM a Golfer Foundation has engaged more than 3,600 young people through golf and leadership development programs, created 145 paid internships and early-career opportunities, and awarded over $400,000 in college scholarships.
In addition, IAMGF has supported and helped advance more than $1 million in improvements at Cedar Crest Golf Course and connected with over 650,000 individuals through community events and digital outreach.
Each year, IAMGF hosts the Dallas Amateur Championship, the Friends of Cedar Crest Golf Classic, and other signature events that celebrate the history, culture, and continued renewal of Cedar Crest and the surrounding community, reinforcing the course’s legacy as both a civic asset and a community gathering place.
