The I AM a Golfer Foundation (IAMGF) was established in 2018 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a mission to be a catalyst for community renewal and transformation in Southern Dallas through the programming, preservation, and promotion of the historic Cedar Crest Golf Course.
IAMGF believes that introducing and promoting the game of golf to diverse and historically underserved communities can create meaningful impact both on and off the course, building character, opportunity, and pathways to success.
Since inception, IAMGF has impacted more than 3,600 juniors through golf and life skills programming, created 145 paid internships and first job opportunities, and awarded over $400,000 in college scholarships. The Foundation has also helped advocate for and assist with more than $1 million in improvements at Cedar Crest Golf Course and reached over 650,000 unique viewers through community events and digital engagement.
Each year, IAMGF proudly hosts the Dallas Amateur Championship, the Friends of Cedar Crest Golf Classic, and other signature events that highlight the history, culture, and continued revitalization of Cedar Crest and the surrounding community.
